My Story
I photograph to capture and share the profound beauty of our natural world. Through my lens, I seek to reveal the stunning landscapes and moments that often go unnoticed in our busy lives. My photographs aim to evoke emotions and connect with people on a deep, emotional level. I believe that by showcasing the raw, untouched beauty of our planet, I can inspire a sense of wonder, appreciation, and a shared responsibility to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. Through photography, I strive to touch people's hearts and encourage them to develop a stronger connection with the world around them.
My Artistic Journey
I began photographing at the age of 12. As I pursued photography, I began to see my surroundings in a different context. I learned the importance of searching for intimate details ordinarily overlooked in my surroundings; exploring the wonders that light brings into a composition. My interest in photography has become a life-long passion. As a practicing CPA for many years, I have developed a critical eye for detail. This attention to detail combined with a need for creativity is the driving force that has fueled my journey as an artist.
My Creative Process
Photography has become a means of expression for me; providing a sense of place and a medium to tell a story. The initial step in my creative process entails observing the world in a unique context; observing surrounding patterns, lines, shadows, textures and details while effectively integrating the existing light into the composition. My images are made with intentionality. My goal is to create artwork that not only reflects what I saw through the viewfinder, but is compelling enough to evoke a feeling, memory or emotional response.
My Hope
As you wander through the galleries, it is my hope that you find a photo(s) that you connect with, causes pause for reflection or simply makes your day a little bit brighter. Over the years, I have been both honored and humbled by the many people that express excitement over my work. I am thankful for my exceptionally loyal fan base and collectors. The excitement displayed by followers over my photography continues to serve as an inspiration. As my photographic journey evolves, I will continue to capture the wonders of our world and produce images that warm the heart and uplift the soul. The photography in my galleries has transformed the many homes, offices, and public spaces in which my art appears. I feel remarkable gratification when a fan remarks how they have connected with a particular image or find inspiration in it. My passion for photography can be summed up in one of my favorite quotes from Ansel Adams: “You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
